How do I make IDN (domain names containing national characters) work in web browsers?
Several web browsers support national characters in domain names. We have listed those we know about here:

Some of the programs listed above also have an email client embedded. If they do not appear on the list of supported email clients, they probably do not support IDN. Here, you will also find a list of known errors.

You have to use the encoded variant of the domain name in programs not supporting IDN. For example, æøå.no is encoded as xn--5cab8c.no. The encoded variant is displayed in parentheses for each domain when logged in on our control panel.

Programs supporting IDN will display the domain name in normal text, but people using a non-supported browser can still use the encoded variant.
